About Us
NoIndoctrination.org is an organization of parents who are disturbed that sociopolitical agendas have been allowed to permeate college courses and orientation programs. The study of controversial topics and unpopular ideas certainly has a place in academia - but "thought reform" and mandated "group think" do not. Blatant and oppressive bias (regardless of the perspective) dishonors the teaching profession, undermines the open search for truth, and has predictable consequences: student anger, frustration, and intimidation.
While most professors would never use their courses as stages for social or political propaganda, some do - with impunity. As parents, educators, taxpayers, and tuition-payers, we find this situation deplorable. We have tried to combat the indoctrination using conventional means: communicating with administrators, regents, trustees, alumni, and legislators, but without success. Ideological fiefdoms are allowed to persist because those with academic responsibility fail to enforce their university's statements on academic freedom even-handedly. Faculty rights are upheld; student rights are not. And the indoctrination continues. Out of frustration, we decided it was time for a new tactic: NoIndoctrination.org.
NoIndoctrination.org is a charitable and educational 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our concern is education and its effect on students and society as a whole. NoIndoctrination.org has no political, religious, or institutional affiliation.
