April 29--NoIndoctrination.org received an email and link from a student at Johns Hopkins (pasted below). Should anyone be interested in participating and want to learn more about this class/film, an article in the Johns Hopkins Magazine titled "The film that became a class" can be read here.
Student's email:
"I am currently in a class called From Civil Rights to Multiculturalism: Student Movements for Student Change. In the class we have discussed a variety of controversial and touchy subjects from race, sexuality, ethnicity, notions of white democracy, and white privilege. We had a very diverse class with a multitude of opinions on this matter. But what was great was that the class was able to openly discuss these topics. As a result of this class from last semester and this semester, we have created a blog with a video about the class. We'd like to invite your organization to begin an onlin discussion with us about the idea of having a class like this on campus and the idea of making a class like this a requirement for universities. We understand we may have different opinions, but it would be great to start a discussion. Here is the blog we began with the video. Students from the class, including myself, will begin to make comments about how we feel about it.
